Heart's Labyrinth

Heart's Labyrinth (1984) is a very personal ballet. The title enabled Kylián to go to great lengths in order to make an artistic statement. As he himself says: “The human heart is the centre of emotion. The limitless range of emotions, including the fi ne nuances and endless combinations, creates an unexplainable labyrinth with numerous pathways. Wondering this labyrinth, I try to approach questions that, which I know now, offer no answers.” The ballet was revived this season by NDT 1 in Programme III.
