Switch proceeds a welcome contribution to Kalinga Foundation

11 Aug 2010

In the annual ‘Switch’ project the dancers take over and organise a sparkling show with their own choreographies. Switch is an evening that bubbles with energy and creativity! Every year the dancers select a charity to which they donate the entire proceeds of the evening.

For Switch '10, which took place in January this year, the dancers chose the Kalinga Foundation. This charity offers structural relief for underprivileged street children in the Philippines, allowing them to break out of their vicious circle of poverty.

With the 21,000 euros produced by Switch '10, the Kalinga Foundation can enable some forty children to go to school for a year. Besides, the donation is enough for the Foundation to feed all the students of the school for a whole year. A result to be proud of!

For Switch '11 another charity has been selected: Care and Share India. The money from Switch ’11 will be used by Care and Share India for providing food, education and shelter to 6000 Indian street children, orphans and children infected with HIV. They have built 9 schools in different slums and children's villages. With the donations it gets, the organisation can buy a plot of land which will allow the children to grow their own rice and be self-reliant in that respect.

Once again, the dancers will pull out all the stops with Switch '11 in order to collect as much money as possible for Care and Share. You can help them by coming to see the show! Be a fast mover and book your tickets here.
