NDT Summer Intensive hosts 60 dance talents

Over the course of this summer, Nederlands Dans Theater organizes its successful programme NDT Summer Intensive. More than 500 international candidates applied for the lessons, which are globally sought after. Only 60 dance talents (Facebook video) were selected to start the two week course on Monday August . On 4. Saturday August 16 the result will be presented during the 'Open Avond'.

The large number of talented applicants from all over the world is exemplary for the program’s international acclaim. The program’s success is proven by the numerous talents hired by Nederlands Dans Theater as dancers or interns: Violet Broersma, Daan van de Laar, Gregory Lau, David Ledger, Jon Ole Olstad, Marne and Myrthe van Opstal, Arina Trostyanetskaya, Casia Vengoechea and Katarina van den Wouwer.

NDT Summer Intensive divides the students into three age categories. The daily program, reflecting NDT’s day-to-day routine, exists of lessons in ballet, repertoire and new compositions. The body of solos and duets this year consists of works by Sol León & Paul Lightfoot, and Crystal Pite. The twelve teachers are NDT choreographers or (former) dancers, like: Lydia Bustinduy, Marco Goecke, Anders Hellström, Marne van Opstal, Myrthe van Opstal and Jiři Pokorný.

The Open Evening of NDT Summer Intensive will be held on Saturday August 16 from 17.45 to 22.00 hrs in Theater aan het Spui, The Hague. This special night is open for public. Buy tickets now.
