Would you like to enjoy an evening full of talent, creativity and fun? Then come to Switch ’12! Switch is the annual choreography workshop, for and by the dancers of Nederlands Dans Theater.

In Signature, you see a world premiere by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot and Fantasia from Hans van Manen and Tiger Lily from Jiří Kylián.

Nederlands Dans Theater 1 dances four ballets, including two Duch premieres and one world premiere, in the program 'Arms'. 

The program 'Traces' by Nederlands Dans Theater 1 includes two world premieres by Crystal Pite and Marco Goecke and Double You by Jiří Kylián.

In 'Move to Move' you see a world premiere from Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, a Dutch premiere of Secus by Ohad Naharin and Silent Screen by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot.

In the first program of Nederlands Dans Theater 2 you see three different pieces, accompanied with live music by Holland Symfonia. 

In 'Offspring' by Nederlands Dans Theater 2, we present two world premieres by Johan Inger and Alexander Ekman and an excisting work from Lukáš Timulak. 

In Oslo, Nederlands Dans Theater 2 will perform in the Norwegian Opera. They will perform Masculine / Feminine (Lucas Timulak), Sleepless (Jiri Kylián) and Cacti (Alexander Ekman).

NDT and The Hague Philharmonic will present a spectacular programme around Stravinsky's masterpiece Le Sacre du Printemps, with live music and dance in two different theaters.

Two beautiful ballets of Jiří Kylián from the 'Black & White' series and new work by Medhi Walerski and Johan Inger, both formed by Kylián.

An evening with Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, presenting SH-BOOM!, Shoot the Moon and Same Difference. Music by Philip Glass.

The Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite is fascinated by by themes such as love, conflict and lost, and the way the body translates this.

In Programme V, the NDT season's final chord, Sol León and Paul Lightfoot present you a very intimate perspective on their art.

Two powerful works of NDT's repertoire from the maestros Jiří Kylián and Hans van Manen with two new creations by Andrea Miller and Douglas Lee.

Newcomers and familiar faces, with Sol León and Paul Lightfoot, Alexander Ekman, Johan Inger, Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar and Holland Symfonia.

This is the first talent development programme jointly presented by NDT and the Korzo Productions, with talented young choreographers and dancers.
 

Switch is the event of the year in which dancers take matters into their own hands; from the complex organization of the day to creating new choreographies!

For the first time in its history, NDT will be presenting its dance performances live at more than 400 Pathe Live cinemas around the world. The programme kicks off on 31 May 2012, with the live performance of the NDT1 production Move to move, extended with a ballet by Alexander Ekman (the NDT2 production Left Right Left Right; pre-recorded).

The season’s opening can certainly be called extraordinary this time: with a special performance in honour of Hans van Manen. The master of simplicity, who has been inextricably bound to NDT since the illustrious early years, will be eighty! The dancers of NDT 1 and NDT 2 have seized this opportunity to perform together for the master in a special festive performance full with surprises.

The performance on 15 September is already sold out! There will be an pre-première on September the 14th.

The world-famous choreographer Jirí Kylián is a source of inspiration to many and has played a very important role in the history of NDT. During this evening, you will see two of his ballets from the renowned ‘Black&White’ series, as well as new work from NDT dancer and choreographer Medhi Walerski and Swan Song by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot.

This evening takes you to the artistic universe of in-house choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot. The characteristic style of the successful Spanish-British choreographers’ duo stands out in the humorous SH-Boom, the powerful theatrical Same Difference and in Shoot the Moon, giving you a glimpse into the love lives of several characters.The music is by Philip Glass.

Fascinated by familiar storylines of love, conflict and loss, Crystal Pite is interested in the body’s role and in the way it can provide the illustrative shape of those stories. The Canadian choreographer aims to reflect the viewer’s own tale in her ballets vision. This programme, for which she will create a completely
new full-length ballet, is wholly devoted to Pite’s dance vocabulary.

NDT 2 puts its unique signature on this varied programme featuring newcomers and familiar faces, plus live accompaniment by Holland Symfonia. You see Studio 2 by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot and the award-winning ballet Dream Play by Alexander Ekman. Studio 2 is made to mark the company’s 50th anniversary in 2009. You can also see new work by Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar, two talented dancemakers from Ohad Naharin’s Batsheva Dance Company.

Sunday afternoon, 9 December, our doors will be open to children aged 5 to 14 and their families. We invite them to attend ‘Move all day - met je familie’. A matinée by NDT 2 and a unique programme of activities around the show. A whole day aimed at discovering and experiencing more dance together.

Nederlands Dans Theater I will visit 'Tanzsommer festival' in Innsbruck (Austria) during their tour. Three ballets will be performed: Sleepless by Jiří Kylián, I New Then by Johan Inger and Cacti by Alexander Ekman.

The opening of our brand new season places Jiří Kylián in the spotlight. Jiří is one of the grand masters of modern dance.

Experience the truly multifaceted NDT with an unexpected mix of four contrasting choreographic voices.

“Looking back at the past but not staring at it.” With these words artistic director Paul Lightfoot describes this varied programme.

Hofesh is rapidly becoming one of Britain’s most celebrated artists. His work, with a young, urban feel to it, hits the audience in a direct manner.

A broad  palette of modern dance styles with choreographers Jiří Kylián, Marco Goecke and Cayetano Soto.

NDT 2 concludes its season in the Netherlands with Postscript  by Sol León and Paul Lightfoot and a world premiere by 'assocoiate choreographer' Johan Inger.

This night the dancers take over and compile an exceptional programme of new, self-created choreographies.

Meet tomorrow’s choreographers tonight, who collaborate with the company’s young dance talents.

NDT concludes the season with a site specific performance, which can be witnessed only during the Holland Festival, together with the world famous Kronos Quartet
