For the first time in its history, NDT will be presenting its dance performances live at more than 400 Pathé Live cinemas around the world. The programme kicks off on 31 May 2012 at 19.30 hrs, with the live performance of the NDT1 production Move to move, extended with a ballet by Alexander Ekman (the NDT2 production Left Right Left Right; pre-recorded).

Here you will find the kick off cinemas in The Netherlands, Belgium, GermanyFrance, Spain, ItalySwitzerland, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Sweden.

A total of four NDT performances will be screened at cinemas in the new season, as part of NDT’s effort to increase its reach and make dance more accessible to a new audience. Pathé Live operates a network of some 1,000 cinemas and is the European market leader in the distribution of alternative programming (i.e. operas, concerts and other special art performances). Thierry Fontaine, General Manager of Pathé Live (France): ‘Pathé Live is extremely proud and honoured to bring NDT live to cinemas around the world.
From the first performance we saw, we fell in love with this incredible company. The shows are original, daring, diverse, demanding, funny and visually compelling. Therefore we are pretty confident that a wide new international audience will discover and embrace the talent of this company’s amazing dancers and choreographers as we do.’
