Crystal Pite – Solo Echo
In a triptych of works, Do Not Run Fly builds imaginary landscapes in an attempt to understand a world that is constantly changing. NDT 1 presents two new creations by choreographers Marcos Morau and Yoann Bourgeois, as well as one audience favorite from the oeuvre of Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT), Solo Echo (2012) by associate choreographer Crystal Pite.

Kor’sia –World premiere
In a close collaboration between NDT and Korzo, Up & Coming Choreographers offers talented, emerging makers the opportunity to create a work for the smaller stage. The project serves as a platform to support new voices, experimentation, and exchange. Up & Coming Choreographers concludes with performances in the intimate setting of the Korzo theatre in The Hague.

Marco Goecke – I love you, ghosts
Tao Ye – World premiere
In/with/in is a triptych of works in which different creators usher in season 2023-2024 with their diverse artistic ideas, prevailing crossovers between dance, visual art, design and music. NDT 1 will dance a world premiere created by a new face to the company, Tao Ye. The choreographic duo Imre van Opstal & Marne van Opstal will also create a new work in collaboration with DRIFT. The evening is concluded with I love you, ghosts (2022) by Marco Goecke.

Micaela Taylor – World premiere
Jermaine Spivey – World premiere
Illuminate turns the spotlight on three young choreographers and forms the ultimate opportunity for the young dancers of NDT 2 to be exposed to different styles of movement.
Micaela Taylor creates a new work, and Jermaine Spivey will further explore his Code of Conduct – originally created for Up & Coming Choreographers 2022. Besides that, NDT 2 will perform Bedtime story (2021) by Nadav Zelner.

Of Any If And
One Flat Thing, reproduced
William Forsythe galvanized the dance world and was catapulted into the international spotlight with his dynamic approach to the art form. After only a short run during the height of COVID-19, NDT felt it imperative to re-stage A Forsythe Evening that marks a revival of the company’s long relationship with the choreographer.
The works Of Any If And (1995), 12 N (2021) and One Flat Thing, reproduced (2000) are accompanied by music composed by Forsythe’s longtime collaborator Thom Willems.

Creations by NDT dancers
Every year, the dancers of NDT 1 and NDT 2 organise Switch: a unique programme entirely composed by the dancers, with all proceeds going to charity. Besides creating works, the dancers themselves are in charge of production, fundraising, marketing and communication.

Gabriela Carrizo – La Ruta
From Here Now Far is an exploration of crossovers between dance, theater, art and life while spectators are invited to expand their ideas about dance and dance theater.
NDT 1 brings back La Ruta (2022) by Gabriela Carrizo to stage, as well as Jakie (2023) by Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar. To complement the programme, Simon McBurney creates a new work in collaboration with Crystal Pite, which is part of the longer collaboration with Complicité.

Ohad Naharin – Minus 16
The beauty of it all strikes the ultimate balance between honoring NDT’s legacy and its rich repertoire, while creating space for new artistic voices that provide the company with surprising perspectives.
NDT 2 performs 27’52” (2002) by Jiří Kylián and celebrates the 25th anniversary of Minus 16 by Ohad Naharin, created for NDT 2 in 1999. A new face to the company, Maxine Doyle, will create a world premiere for this programme.

Besides our regular theatre programming, in season 2023-2024 we will again present performances online in our Digital Theatre and our programmes within the collaboration with Korzo – such as Here we live and now and De keuze van Korzo en NDT – and with the Royal Conservatoire Young Talent Project.
