Director and choreographer Marcos Morau creates new work for NDT 1. After his studies (choreography, photography ánd dramaturgy) he founded dance company La Veronal in 2005, in which dancers, filmmakers, theater makers, writers and photographers work together. You may also know this choreographic jack-of-all-trades from his works for Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, the Royal Danish Theatre and the Ballet of the National Opera du Rhin.

A taste? In 2021 he presented Folkå, his first work for NDT 2.

Yoann Bourgeois was trained in circus arts and it shows. The artistic director, choreographer and set designer challenges gravity in his work full of stairs, trampolines and other ingenious installations. He has developed projects with well-known artists such as Selena Gomez, Missy Elliott, Coldplay, FKA Twigs, Patrick Watson, Pink and Harry Styles.

In Do not run fly you will see Bourgeois’ latest creation for NDT 1, a co-creation with his partner Marie Bourgeois.

More than 60 works are credited to Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. She avoids no theme and has managed to incorporate trauma, addiction, conflict and climate change into choreography. Her outspoken and original vision has won her numerous prestigious awards.

In Do Not Run Fly, you will see the well-received Solo Echo, a lifetime of solos and swirling flakes.

The title of the program Do Not Run Fly does not come completely out of the blue. A hint? Our production team worked on an extremely fast spinning disc that can be driven onto the stage within 5 minutes. And for the dancers, two belts were ordered from America that will literally allow them to take to the air.
