Switch ‘25

NDT 1 & NDT 2
NEW CREATIONS BY NDT DANCERS

Artsen zonder Grenzen

NDT 1 dancer Genevieve O’Keeffe gives an update on this season’s edition on behalf of the Switch team:

“As the company prepares to enter the Christmas break, the dancers remain busy both in and out of the studio as they prepare for the upcoming addition of Switch ’25.
An annual favourite in the NDT Calendar, Switch is an evening where dancers from both companies have the opportunity to present their own choreographic work and raise funds for a charity of their choosing.
All proceeds from this years’ addition with be donated to Artsen zonder Grenzen in support of their work to provide lifesaving aid to those who have nowhere else to turn.

Switch ’25 will be held in our home theatre of Amare, on January 18th at 19.45 and will showcase 14 new works from our own emerging choreographic voices.”

Where the need is greatest, Artsen zonder Grenzen/ Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) takes action. Thanks to the support of donors, life-saving aid is available to people who often have nowhere else to turn.

Whether affected by natural disasters, disease outbreaks, or conflicts, people can count on MSF. Medical care is provided to anyone in need—without exception. By refusing government funding, the organization remains independent, enabling its teams to provide assistance on all sides of a conflict. From countries that dominate the headlines to places where cameras rarely venture: from Bangladesh to Sudan, and from Gaza to Haiti.

This vital work is only possible thanks to the generosity of donors, including this initiative by NDT.

Switch '24

Team Switch'24, with Gabrielle Rolle holding the revenues of last years charity: War Child

“Every season, Switch is an opportunity for us NDT dancers to tackle the creative act from a different perspective – by embarking on a choreographing journey, by making a colleague’s artistic vision come to life, or by planning and producing the programme. It is the one, thrilling event entirely produced by the dancers, in which rules and norms are set aside and creative freedom and agency are put in the spotlight.

While Switch is first and foremost a platform for NDT artists to create and perform own works, it’s also an occasion for us to take on different responsibilities and to learn new, valuable skills. It also allows us to connect with our audience in a more personal and intimate way and to raise awareness to topics we have at heart. Every year, all of Switch’s proceeds go to a charity of our choice, making it a very special and meaningful event.

As we look back to past Switch editions redefining and reflecting on our creative mission, we are already working on Switch’25 – and we cannot wait to share it with you.”
