NDT 2 opens the season with an exciting double bill: Lucid Variations. Featuring Folkå by Marcos Morau and a new work by Nadav Zelner. To be seen from 24 October to 20 December.

As a house for creation, we value experimentation, collaboration, and the development of dance artists. To support this, we have created a series of programmes – each connected to different stages in a dancer and maker’s career. By encouraging, guiding, and promoting new voices and perspectives, we are building a strong future for both NDT and our sector.
We provide tailor-made opportunities for every step in a dance artist’s career. We want to meet new makers sooner rather than later, so we can tap into their creativity and help them grow and thrive. With choreographic labs, workshops, internships, and residencies, we have created a path for talent development in collaboration with local dance communities and partners like Korzo. And this season, we have expanded our efforts. We want to create new collaborations and exchanges, reach a larger and more diverse group of upcoming makers, and facilitate multi-disciplinary and innovative works.
Together with Korzo, we support new voices and choreographers with production, creation, and performance opportunities. Through Here we live and now, for example, a programme in which dance makers from The Hague are invited to create new work. And with Up & Coming Choreographers, where emerging talented makers get the opportunity to create new works for NDT 2.
In season 2024-2025, we are introducing two new initiatives: Micro Residencies and Up & Coming Lab. We offer makers a chance to expand their limits in Micro Residencies, with personalized coaching and support. In our Up & Coming Lab, four emerging makers have two weeks to explore and develop a short work with the dancers of NDT 2, resulting in an informal sharing in the NDT Black Box.
For our first edition of Up & Coming Lab, we have invited Anat Oz and duos Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson and Eliana Stragapede & Borna Babić. The fourth maker will be selected through our exchange project with GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. An NDT dancer is given the opportunity to create a work for their season and, in turn, we invite one of their dancers to work with us.

We want to help young dancers by giving them the tools they need for a successful career in the dance world. We do this by giving them the opportunity to take part in different projects and by providing them with guidance and support through workshops and training, so that they can grow and develop.
A dance artist, from emerging to established, can connect to NDT through a ladder of opportunities:
To expand their skills, we guide and support NDT dancers as teachers and facilitators in various projects. The dancers lead workshops on our repertoire for young (pre)professionals, for instance during international tours and the Summer Intensive. In addition, our dancers get the chance to create new work for Young Talent Project and the Summer Intensive. In this way, talent development takes place in both directions.
At NDT, we have created a series of programmes that offer NDT dancers, freelance makers and guest artists many opportunities to develop in choreography and new work. We nurture choreographers, both inside and outside the company, building new voices and perspectives for NDT and for our sector.
A key aspect of our approach is to provide tailored support to local, national and international creators at all stages of their careers. We are expanding the ladder of choreographic development support to include new collaborations and exchanges, meeting makers earlier in their careers through choreographic labs, workshops and internships, or special projects.
