We are proud and happy to announce that two new members have joined the Supervisory Board at NDT starting September first, Anthony Heidweiller and Erik van Ginkel.
Anthony Heidweiller has been deputy director of the Academy of Theatre and Dance at the Amsterdam School of the Arts since 2021. He has a great track record within national and international professional practice.
“Nederlands Dans Theater has had a unique place in the Netherlands and far beyond for decades. Not only in terms of the outstanding qualities of its dancers, but also educationally, NDT ensures that as many people as possible develop a passion for dance. NDT also brought this passion to life for me at an early stage in my life. I still cherish wonderful memories of the many performances I saw by NDT in what was then the Circus Theater. It is therefore a great honor for me that I have now joined NDT as a member of the Supervisory Board and in this way may be part of this wonderful company.”
Erik van Ginkel is business director of the Rijksmuseum. He has over thirty years of experience in the cultural sector and has worked for the Mondriaan Fund, the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, among others. As director/supervisor he was involved with Danceworks Rotterdam and the Nederlandse Dansdagen but also, for example, as chairman at the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts.
Erik is a loyal visitor to NDT’s performances and cites as one of his personal highlights a visit to Jacob’s Pillow together with NDT 2 in 2015.
We recently said goodbye to Johan Simons as a member of our Supervisory Board after his maximum term (two terms of four years each) had expired. We are grateful for all his knowledge, skills and commitment over the past years.
