In The Edge of Things, we showcase the next generation of dance artists. Ethan Colangelo creates his first world premiere for NDT 2. The new creation of our new associate choreographer Jermaine Spivey challenges dancers and audiences with his talent for improvisation, spontaneity, and structure. We also revisit Alexander Ekman’s FIT (2018), full of humour, wit, and absurdity.

RESONANCE celebrates bold, thought-provoking, and iconic works from acclaimed makers that are close to our heart. In Mémoires d’Oubliettes (2009), Jiří Kylián explores the nature of memory. Associate choreographer Crystal Pite takes you back to her chilling and satirical boardroom drama The Statement (2016). We also revisit the evocative Woke up Blind (2016) by associate choreographer Marco Goecke, with its soul-wrenching score by Jeff Buckley.

An annual favourite of ours is Switch: an evening entirely curated, produced, and choreographed by the dancers of NDT 1 and NDT 2. Switch began over 40 years ago, born from the need of the dancers to be creative and experimental, and to explore other aspects of their artistic identity. Over the years it has developed into a professionally produced and much-loved charity event in our home in The Hague.

In Wildsong, we dive into the dynamic, surreal worlds of two acclaimed makers that highlight the unique versatility of the NDT 1 dancers. Choreographer Jan Martens creates his first world premiere for us, full of stamina, rebellion, and bold, punk-infused compositions. We also revisit the much-loved and theatrical Horses (2024) by our associate choreographer Marcos Morau.
This programme will premiere during Holland Dance Festival.
The performances in Amare, The Hague are accompanied by live music from the Dutch Ballet Orchestra.

I dreamt, it was is a feast for the senses. NDT alumni and new associate choreographers Imre van Opstal & Marne van Opstal are back with a raw and emotional new creation, exploring how spaces impact us. We are also joined by brilliant makers Sharon Eyal & Gai Behar and their hypnotising, vulnerable, and groovy SAABA (2021), reworked in a bold, new version for NDT 2.

Choreographer Ohad Naharin, an unparalleled voice in contemporary dance, is back for a unique collaboration with NDT. After years of researching the impact of locations on dance, he presents two world premieres that are like ‘sisters’: one for Batsheva Dance Company and one for NDT 1. In the new creation for NDT 1, located in our NDT Black Box, the distance between audience and dancers is erased, creating an intimate experience that will be nothing short of extraordinary.
Ticket sales for this programme will start in January 2026.

In a close collaboration between NDT and Korzo, Up & Coming Choreographers offers talented emerging makers the opportunity to create a work for NDT 2. The project serves as a platform to support new voices, experimentation, and exchange, and concludes with performances in the intimate setting of the Korzo theatre in The Hague. For this season, we have invited Rachelle Scott and Tom Weinberger as our Up & Coming Choreographers. These inspiring new voices offer a glimpse into the future of contemporary dance, and we are proud to support their artistic development.
Ticket sales for this programme, which takes place at Korzo, will start soon.
