On September 26, 27 and 28, we will kick off the 2024-2025 season with the NDT 1 programme Architecture of the Invisible, and the whole world can watch along! During the premiere weekend, we will stream all performances online in Digital Theatre. A unique chance to see the work of Jiří Kylián closer than ever, as well as the compelling Clowns by Hofesh Shechter and a world premiere by Christos Papadopoulos.

The energetic Clowns (2016), Hofesh Shechter’s first creation for NDT, studies the complexity of being alive, of fighting for shared values, and the raw, human desire for liberation. Just like clowns did for queens and kings in eras past, Shechter holds up a mirror to his audience, revealing the truth of life in the guise of entertainment.
The work Vanishing Twin (2008) by Jiří Kylián is inspired by the medical phenomenon of the same name, a rare and unusual condition in which one foetus takes over the womb at the expense of its twin, until it disappears completely. It is a poetic symbol for the darker side we all share, which we don’t accept and would rather not reveal to others.
The choreographer Christos Papadopoulos creates a world premiere for this programme. His new work explores our subtle, everyday social connections, revealing the beauty within the most profound connections that often go unnoticed. This is the first time that the Greek choreographer is creating a work for NDT.
The NDT 1 performance Architecture of the Invisible will be broadcast live from Amare, The Hague in our Digital Theatre on Thursday September 26, Friday September 27 and Saturday September 28. A unique opportunity to experience the performance at home! A ticket for one livestream costs €15.
Your live stream ticket grants access to the online performance on your chosen day. Please note, the performances start at 7:45 PM (CEST) (19:45h, Dutch localtime) and can only be watched live. You will not have the chance to rewatch it.
