Dancer in the Classroom
Group 1-4

This special project involves a class visit by a dancer from NDT. The dancer performs a solo right in the middle of the children, who are seated around in a circle.The children get a playful introduction to modern dance and, after the solo, process their viewing experience during a moment of interaction with the dancer.

NDT on stage

NDT On Stage – Going to the theatre
Group 5-8

Twice every season, NDT stages a performance featuring beautiful and humorous highlights from NDT 2 performance. These performances are created especially for students in the upper years of primary school (Years 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the Dutch education system, or the international equivalent depending on your country).  Prior to the theatre visit all children participate in an NDT dance workshop taught at the school.

It was a great performance! The children were very enthusiastic. We also thought it was very luxurious that we were picked up by the bus, everything was organized well.

NDT Apps

Cacti, Parade, Dreamplay and The Statement
Preschool and Grade 1-6
Discover the educational dance apps created for teachers who are interested in creatively bringing the world of dance into their classrooms. The app The Statement and Parade are centered around ballets of the Canadian choreographer Crystal Pite. The app Dreamplay focuses on the ballet of the Swedish choreographer Johan Inger and with Cacti toddlers can work with the ballet of Alexander Ekman.

NDT Lesson Series

A dance curriculum for schools
Kindergarten – to grade 6
NDT Lesson Series is a series of lessons in which students are introduced to NDT and modern dance. In each lesson, students discover and experience new facets of modern dance as an art form. This includes: carrying out dance movements, creating your own dance, shaping imagination and creativity and performing dance.

Partnerscholen

NDT works together with a number of partner schools to experiment with activities for primary schools and use this experiment to develop new educational projects. The main focus of these partnerships is the interaction between the two institutions.
