Cassandra Martin

When asked what makes NDT such a special place to work in, the obvious answer would be to say NDT is an institution and an innovator that has been pushing the world of dance for decades but for me, the people of NDT are what move and inspire me the most. I have never been with a group of people that have shown me that the limits of what I believe dance is and can be simply don’t exist.

My curiosity lies in how dance is a tool for bringing the collective together, as audience and dancer we experience the work as one. I want to see myself as an artist and not just a dancer in the traditional sense of the word. I want to push myself to integrate my identity into my work as opposed to just let the work become my identity. – Cassandra
