My favourite moment in the studio was during the creation of Clowns with Hofesh Shechter.

One particular day, he had an idea of creating a tap dancing section. For this, he brought out two coins from his bag and made rhythms by hitting a box whilst recording on a computer. After recording several of these, Hofesh combined all of the rhythms to create the effect of a full percussion band. Everytime he created a short rhythm, he choreographed a tap dance for us. By the end of the day, we would have a whole section of tap dancing ready.

The whole process of simultaneously composing and choreographing was really mind-blowing and will stay with me.

I wish to share experiences like this with audiences through our performances. – Yukino
