This is going to be my first year working as a professional dancer. I can’t express in words how grateful I am that I will experience this at NDT. To me, NDT is a place where you feel safe and accepted as the person who you are today. It also lets dancers with different backgrounds and life stories come together and form a union. All of us dancers have a raw and sincere passion for dancing which not only unites us, but also lets us communicate on a deeper emotional level with the audience.
In life I want to have everything under control, but once I start to dance I can lose this sense of planning ahead. I can throw my deepest emotions and expression in to an art form that doesn’t need to use words of explanation, just completely letting yourself be free. I hope when you, the audience, watch us dance you feel an out of body experience, letting worries leave your mind, and of course to just enjoy! – Zoë
